Do I really heart dieting? Well, yes. I heart the GOOD lifestyle changes, I heart the increased activity that I’ve added to it, I heart the good-for-me feeling that watching what I eat comes with, and I heart the lack of guilt.

I’m also not using the term diet in my every day - it truly is a lifestyle change (and I know that’s so cliche, but it really is), but this iheartdieting is a lot easier to remember or type than iheartlifestylechanges and I think that its our mental attitude that makes the first one feel so depriving.

How am I dieting? I’m doing Weight Watchers. Tried and true and easy. Easy to life with and easy to count the points. I’m just closing in on week one and will post the stats as soon as I get them!

Today hubby and I went on a bike ride to Panera, where we had a nice lunch (turkey sandwich with an apple) and then rode back home. Its a total ride of about 4.5 miles and I earned 7 activity points (AP) because of it! I’m not using them today, but instead to account for the slight overage I had of my flex points this week. I had two nights of eating out - sushi with the MIL, and hubby and I celebrated our anniversary last night at Seasons52 - did you know that *nothing* on their menu is over 475 calories? Not to mention that the food is truly outstanding. So, between the two I spent more points than I wanted to and I need to spend the next two days earning back what I went over. I only have 6.5 more points to work off. Not too shabby!

I hope this site provides some inspiration and motivation for others trying to lose weight and regain control of their eating. IT CAN BE DONE. I think we often forget that. We see all these magazine headlines that say “lose 21 pounds in 21 days (??)” and we forget the sensibility that lies within the sound programs out there.

I’ve started reading the book “thin for life” and it has totally ramped up my confidence that I can conquer this and that I don’t have to hate my life while doing it. Its also on google books if you want to read a good bit of it online for free.

I’m also going to try and do a lot of low cal/low fat recipes on here to share - this doesn’t have to be tasteless!
